I bought the Philips Azur GC4630 as a birthday gift for my wife after reading some of the other reviews.

She has been absolutely thrilled - the ionic steam trigger sends a blast of micro steam particles through the clothing - which simply makes creases vanish without any effort on her part.

After battling with our old iron for over a year now, she found the Philips light enough to hold for several hours at a time. She claims "the teflon like glide of the Philips has put the joy back into housework once again!"

The only slightly negative (and very picky) point is the position of the ionic steam trigger, which is all too easily fired accidently.

This kettle lived up to the reviews. Quick boil, quiet, and boils small amounts or the amount you require for the pot with easy measuring gauge. My only quibble is the spout (with the filter) is a slow pourer and for filling quickly. However, once you get used to it, no problem.

As with most electrical items I buy it took me a while to decide which one to get. What decided me in the end was the fact that I could measure the water in cups and if I only needed one cup then that's all I needed to fill it with. It is fairly quiet, with a scale on both sides so good for left handers like me. The lid flips up by pressing a button at the top of the handle making it easy to fill. The filter is easily removed for cleaning. Some reviews have said that the water tastes funny initially but if you follow the instructions for the first use and always make sure that before boiling more water the kettle is emptied of old water, then the water doesn't have a chemical taste.

philips hd2648/20 four slice toaster, 2010-01-30
The toaster was selected because of it's price being below £30 for a four slice, and the power rating of 1800w which makes it capable of quick brown slices. We have had no problems with this toaster and it appears to everything as advertised, although i would not recommend for very wide sliced bread as slot capacity is not to great. But this is a balance of what size toaster you want on your kitchen top, Overall i rate this a very good toaster, with lots of functions.

ironing a pleasure, 2010-02-22
I did a 'Which' review on irons and decided to have a go on this Philips iron. You can buy a cheap steam iron - i know because i've had a couple - they leak, the sole plate gets worn and sticky - useless. This one is great. I don't like ironing and anything that makes it a bit easier gets my vote. It is the best iron I've ever had.

This is an extremely good iron. So far I am very impressed with it. A complete basketful of ironing done on just 1 water refill. Fast up to temperature and very easy to use - not too heavy. All controls and indicators fairly easy to understand. Love it.

I didn't intend to get a hand blender with jar attachment--already have the latter in the form of a min-blnder. but the mini-blender is now up for grabs, because this product does a much better job. And, it is easy to clean.
