 Works well for timings over 5 minutes., 2010-07-07
I ordered this having read the other two reviews which gave it a solid thumbs-up. It is nice looking and works well for over-five minute timings, but doesn't work for five minutes or less. When I set it for five minutes it counts down with a reassuring tick but doesn't actually do anything when it reaches 0. Don't use it for timing soft boiled eggs, for example.

I bought this item as a birthday present for a friend and she is over the moon with it. She finds it extremely easy to use and the stainless steel look matches her kitchen. She informs me that the bell is loud enough for her to hear when she is in the lounge. Very easy to use for someone with dexterity problems. No hesitation about recommending this item. Well worth the money

I was a bit apprehensive about buying an egg timer after some of the reviews I read on this site for other timers that didn't keep time or didn't ring etc. This timer however is fantastic. It looks good in our kitchen, has great build quality and most importantly it is reliable. I can highly recommend it.
