Average rating of 5/5 Much better than the Morphy Richards Compact, 2010-03-15
Great Breadmachine. I bought the cheaper Morphy Richards compact originally, mainly because I didn't think I would use the nut dispenser much, and because I assumed it would be smaller. Wrong. The MR is bigger and (the black version) very plasticky looking. I had it for about 10 days and it burnt every loaf I made, despite going down to a light crust setting and putting no sugar in. I think we had a faulty machine, but the bread didn't rise as well as the Panasonic and despite being burnt where the tin made contact still managed to have a soft top crust! The panasonic almost manages a crisp top crust on a medium setting. We use the french setting and my only criticism is that it is so light and rises so high that it is really difficult to slice! It's much quieter than the MR too. So splash out a little more and go for the panasonic, it's worth it.

Average rating of 5/5 Good for bread, amazing for pizza, 2010-03-15
This review has evident slant as its within the first week of use but I have to say I am amazed with the quality of the bread coming out of this product. So far have only made a chocolate and orange loaf as on the Panasonic website but I have made 3 lots of pizza dough with it an all I have to say is: ITS FANTASTIC!!!

The base is lovely, crispy and bakes up well in just a fan oven with a crispy crust but light texture on the inside. I have seriously never had this good pizza from a shop and it is far superior to Pizza Hut and with a bit of work on my presentation and technique I think it will be better than all the chain pizza restaurants out there- I am not saying this is a substitute to a true Italian pizza/ American pizza but for the average person its great and destroys the competition on cost. Its also very inexpensive too with a pizza costing me just over a pound to make, even when factoring in cheese, bread, power and meat toppings.

Cant wait to try out some of the other breads it can make! I am scrapping going out for pizza for my birthday party and getting my mates round for a make your own pizza night instead- far better!

Average rating of 5/5 Cracking Breadmaker, 2010-03-15
Had this product for about three weeks now and its absolutely brilliant to use making perfect tasty bread everytime at less than 50p a loaf. Haven't bought a supermarket loaf since it arrived in our house. Preparation time is really short about 5 minutes for a basic white or wholemeal loaf including setting the machine and timer. Sounds expensive but as usual quality tells. Hoghly reccommend this item to anyone.

Average rating of 5/5 Perfect....., 2010-03-16
This is my first breadmaker and I followed all the review advice on Amazon which I agree with. I've had the machine for 2 weeks now and have produced 7-8 loafs which have all been perfect. I set it to make French bread today on timer and just got home late from work and the fresh bread smell entering my flat was great. That was followed by a lovely light bread with cheese and wine....superb. Buy it - the bread is loads better than the plastic grey supermarket stuff.

i have never before felt moved to review a product good or bad. The SD255 is a marvel, I had a breadmaker as a wedding present in 1992 that was satisfactory although the bread was a little heavy and when it died I never bothered to replace it as i didn't believe a breadmaker could make bread as good as a decent baker. I now know I was wrong. I have owned this one for around a month and have made more bread in the last month than in a year with the old one. I have used the fast bake and the standard and the bread is as good as or better than shop bought and half the price. the bread is still good and fresh the next day and makes excellent toast the day after although the problem is waiting for it to cool down long enough as my family hate waiting for it to cool to slice it. the timer function is great so i can come home to a fresh loaf and the smell of fresh bread baking when you open the door is exquisite. My only regret is i didn't buy one sooner.
