Having had a couple of plastic steamers which both cracked, we wanted something sturdy that would last. This Prestige steamer has more then meet our expectations, performing perfectly 'out of the box'. Highly recommended if you want something you can use regularly and is easy to clean. Well worth the money.

For the price this is a great steamer and serves it's purpose very well. It's easy to clean and use. You get the full flavour of vegetables cooked this way. A great asset in my Kitchen.

This steamer is fantastic and lives up to all my expectations, a very fine piece of equipment. Love the fact that it collapses into a third of it's size for easy storage. Highly recommended.

It's rice cooker....simple as that, but easy to use and very handy. You can also use it to steam vegetables, or fish, and we even cooked pasta in it when the hob was broken....

Not for frequent dishwashing!, 2010-03-05
I can't fault this steamer - it does what it says, and does it very well. However after repeatedly washing the baskets of my first one (which I'd had for around 5 years) in the dishwasher over the last year, they became brittle and started to craze and break. I found out replacements can't be bought so after considering other brand/models I decided to buy another one (which I wash by hand).

I like fixed baskets, no bottoms falling out as the lugs break with resultant contents spilled.
So easy to clean - who needs to put it in a dishwasher!
I especially stacking baskets and being able to use the lid to stand the baskets on while draining and also the easy use of stock for gravy. No water level indicator but I don't find that a problem.
I would definitely recommend it.
