I bought this attachment to go with the Kitchen Craft pasta maker with which I am having great fun using.

The neat little ravioli attachment slots onto the pasta maker where the tagliatelli/fetuccini cutter usually fits. It is operated by the same handle which is used to turn all rollers and cutters. The mechanics work well and with precision. The dough-cutting gauge enables the pasta to be cut to the correct width for inserting into the hopper. I had to tighten the screws holding the cutters onto the shaft, otherwise the sheet of pasta had wiggly rather than straight edges. No problem here.

There are no instructions as to how to use the attachment, nor how to clean it. Reference to "The Pasta Machine Cookbook" by Gina Steer (1997; reprinted 2010) demonstrates how to use and load the device - it is very easy.

The cleaning, after some of the filling oozed out of the sides of the ravioli, was not so easy. Rather than have the remains of the filling festering somewhere in the roller system I resorted to dismantling the attachment, not difficult but time consuming. I had presumed that as the pasta-maker should not be immersed in water that the attachment likewise should not be. So, beware - don't use oozy fillings!

The resulting ravioli were wonderful!

This Imperia Pasta Machine is the original way of producing fantastic homemade pasta. Wonderful consistent pasta with zero effort, 2008-09-24
This product is large but then it does cook a hell of a lot of pasta at once if you need that. Equally it can cook for one person. You fill the removeable bowl with water to the mark, pop it in the base, drop in the basket, fill with pasta (any kind even spaghetti), push the on button, if you need to adjust the time, the default is 10 minutes which give aldente for most pasta so normally turning it on is enough. Once the water is boiling the basket silently drops into the water.

It bleeps at 1 minute to go and then once its done. Then the basket silently lifts up and the pasta is drained and keeps warm in the steam.

There is a timer so you can set this up anytime and as the pasta isnt in the water till it boils it doesnt soften until its cooking.

As its all timed the pasta comes out perfect every time. If you love aldente then this makes this happen every time without fail and without all that testing.

If the pasta isnt to your liking you can get the machine to drop the pasta back into the water and cook it for longer just by pressing the plus button for the amount of minutes you want.

Pretty foolproof and easy to clean. Looks good, works well. What more do you want?

Faulty?, 2010-02-20
I am not sure if the product I have is faulty but whaever quantity of rice you cook the machines seems to have excessive emmission of fluids from both the lid and the vent whole in the lid. There is an enormous mess everytime you us this machine for an area of 2 or 3 feet around the base. Users may also wish to note that this machine has a minimum recommendation to use 4 measures of rice which weigh around 125gms each when full so you need to have enough use for at least 6 hungry people.
