Easy to use, excellent quality and performance, 2010-09-07
I use this pressure cooker several times a week. It has really changed the way we eat, especially on weeknights. Of course you can use it for meats, particularly stews, with significant time savings. I primarily use it for vegetarian meals. You can cook a pot of chickpeas from dried in less than 45 minutes, which is amazing. Sweet potatoes in less than 10 minutes, potatoes for mash in the same amount of time. I bought an excellent cookbook by Lorna Sass, which has helpful charts and cooking times. The most surprising dish to come out of my pressure cooker so far is risotto. It takes about 4 minutes of cooking once the pressure has been reached to make risotto. Revolutionary. This is the first pressure cooker I have owned, so I can't compare it to other styles, but it is very easy to clean and operate. I would highly recommend it.

The Shinkansen sharpener has two sets of ceramic sharpening wheels coarse and medium, obliquely angled to restore knives to razor sharpness, easy to use, pour water into the reservoir, then draw knives through about 8 times between each set of wheels, recommended for global knives.

Well having read the reviews I bought one, it works, though if you have trouble getting it to sharpen the whole length of a blade, then (against the rules) remove the transparent cover and go straight onto the ceramic wheels.
Knives now as sharp as when new, and without any of the jaggies that can happen with the cheaper sharpeners.

It does not work on serrated knives.

This is the best chopping board ive owned, its very heavy but heavy = reliable in my book. Just dont drop it on your foot or you will end up in casulty no doubt. Excellent quality & value for money though.

Delivered very quickly and the knife is well made little all around EDC (Everyday Carry). It has solid feel all around, and real nice back lock system. When folded it is so small. It is definitely a nice item and good value for money. Two thumbs up.

I use a pocket knife nearly everyday and believe that a sharp blade is a safer blade. First off, the size of this tool is perfect for most pockets and can clip to your waist band or belt etc. The industrial diamond coated rod is able to fix in position by tightening the neck piece and can also retract and be secured in side itself the same way. I'd say its great for getting an edge on harder knife blades like quality Victorinox knives I use. However, for a razor like edge you would need a super fine grain stone, but this rod will get you to every stage before that. Came fast and I know someone who has one of these, and has had it for a long time, still putting an edge to his blades.

p.s: it can also sharpen hooks and needles with its ditch like groove down its shaft.
