The title says it all really. This coffee tamper . . . tamps coffee. However I feel that some of the negative comments in other reviews need addressing.
Many of the other reviewers have stated that this tamper is "Far too small" for their Gaggia coffee machines; Gaggia use the same size filters in their domestic machines as they do in professional machines, hence this tamper will be 5mm too small for them. Measure the filter on your coffee machine before ordering.
Also a couple reviewers have mentioned issues with the the curved bottom of the tamper. In my experience this doesn't affect the tamper's ability to help you brew a decent espresso.
All-in-all this is a perfectly good tamper, and certainly the best one by far for the price. If you want a flat bottom and a long handle there are plenty of tampers available online for around £20. However I would recommend this one to anybody for a modestly priced and perfectly capable tamper.
